In conjunction with the UAE’s observance of the International Day of Charity, marked annually on September 5th, Beit Al Khair Society shed light on its long-standing journey in supporting humanitarian efforts within the country. The Society reaffirmed its dedication to promoting the values of generosity and solidarity, and to providing assistance to all segments of society without discrimination.
Abdeen Taher Al Awadhi, Director General of the Society, stated that since its establishment in 1989, Beit Al Khair has disbursed approximately AED 3 billion through 27 diverse humanitarian projects. These programs have been carefully designed to meet the needs of low-income families and open doors of hope for eligible beneficiaries across multiple areas including healthcare, education, food assistance, housing, as well as care for orphans, senior citizens, and laborers.
He explained that Beit Al Khair’s initiatives are categorized into core and seasonal programs, ranging from monthly assistance that helps stabilize families, to emergency relief initiatives that respond to urgent humanitarian needs. The Society also places special emphasis on religious and national occasions through seasonal campaigns that embody the spirit of human solidarity—such as its Ramadan, Eid Al Adha, and Back-to-School campaigns.
He added:
“The successes achieved by Beit Al Khair would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our wise leadership, which has established a global model positioning the UAE as a capital of giving and generosity. We deeply value the trust of donors and benefactors, who have been a key pillar in the continuity and expansion of our projects—enabling the Society’s support to reach thousands of families and individuals across the country.
On this occasion, we reaffirm Beit Al Khair’s commitment to ongoing growth and development, whether through the adoption of modern digital technologies that facilitate access to both beneficiaries and donors, or by launching strategic partnerships with local and international organizations—enhancing the efficiency and amplifying the positive impact of charitable work within the community.”**
